A Brief Introduction
My name is Ashley Schuering, and I am an experienced food blogger, freelance food writer, and blogging ghostwriter with a thirst for knowledge about everything food and SEO related.
My clients run the full gamut of international cuisine and dietary preferences. Whether you're gluten free, Whole30/Paleo, Keto, Flexitarian or something else entirely - I'll happily write posts to make your tasty recipes even more enticing to your readers.
Whatever food writing challenge you throw my way, I'll tackle it with enthusiasm.
After decades in the restaurant biz, I'm quick to pick up on the voice and personality of my individual clients. My naturally curious nature paired with a rigorous academic background means I love doing deep-dive research into any unfamiliar ingredients, dishes or preparations.
If you need a food ghostwriter, I'm your gal.
To date, I have published over 145 personal blog posts and written more than 2000 SEO-optimized recipe posts for my clients. I've spent thousands of hours learning the ins and outs of WordPress, honing my editorial skills, and studying SEO best practices.

Testimonials
Need more convincing? Here's what some of my clients have to say:
"Have you ever wished you could clone yourself? Ashley is my magic li’l elf who assists in writing blog posts. She understands the cuisine I write about and quickly captured my voice. Not only is her writing personal, but she is great at naturally weaving in keyword research and SEO. I am very grateful for all of her assistance!" —Yvette Marquez, muybuenocookbook.com
Before working with Ashley, I struggled to get my blog posts written. I've never considered myself a writer and I felt like it was the one part of blogging that I didn't love. Giving the writing reigns to Ash has taken so much off my plate. She's thorough, intelligent, and injects personality (and SEO!) into my posts. Whether it's helping me write something new or updating an old post, Ashley does an amazing job. I totally recommend her!" — Mary Ellen Valverde, vnutritionandwellness.com
My History As A Food Person
Food has been a lifelong passion of mine. I grew up with a Mom who refused to let us eat processed food, instead cooking nearly every meal from scratch. I grew up at her side in the kitchen, learning and helping wherever I could.
I hosted my first dinner party at the age of 10 as a surprise for my Mom’s 40th birthday. My Dad let me plan and execute the 3-course menu myself. I still remember the menu: Potato Leek Soup (I used way too much white pepper), Fish en Papillote (it turned out perfectly flaky) and a Chocolate Ribbon Cake (my chocolate tempering skills were subpar, but my baking was spot on). Not bad for a 5th grader, right?
In business school, I spent my time obsessing about the food system and its many vulnerabilities. I co-created an online farmer's market aimed at developing a stronger and more equitable local food system. Spoiler alert: the company failed in 2018 after 3 years. I joked with my business partner the other day that we were just 5 years too early!
I’ve also spent over 20 years in the restaurant world, working every station I could: as a front of house host, server, and manager; working “the line” as a pantry cook; and as a pastry assistant. I have had the privilege of working in professional kitchens learning from James Beard award-winning (and nominated!) chefs.
In short, my life's passion is and always has been anything and everything related to food. Getting to write about it for a living has been one of the greatest privileges of my life; it would be an honor to help you get your recipes and your passions in front of more readers.
